About us
The Manyu Rural Development Project (MARUDEP) is a professionally managed, non-profit, non-political, and community-driven development organization established to promote sustainable socio-economic transformation across Manyu Division in the South West Region of Cameroon.
MARUDEP serves as a strategic platform that brings together governments, development finance institutions, international organizations, private-sector investors, research institutions, civil society organizations, traditional authorities, local communities, and the Manyu diaspora to develop and implement innovative programmes that improve the quality of life of the people of Manyu.
The organization was founded on the principle that sustainable development can only be achieved through inclusive participation, strategic partnerships, good governance, environmental stewardship, and long-term investment in people and communities.
MARUDEP therefore adopts an integrated development approach that addresses critical development challenges while creating opportunities for economic growth, social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and institutional strengthening.
Who We Are
MARUDEP is more than a development organization—it is a catalyst for transformation.
We are committed to identifying community needs, mobilizing resources, developing innovative solutions, and implementing sustainable programmes that empower communities to become self-reliant and resilient.
Through professional planning, sound engineering, modern technology, and community participation, MARUDEP seeks to create lasting development outcomes that improve lives and strengthen local institutions.
The organization operates in accordance with internationally recognized principles of transparency, accountability, professionalism, integrity, sustainability, and inclusive development.

Manyu-led. Diaspora-funded.
We build community-owned infrastructure directly with local villages, bypassing international middlemen to ensure every resource reaches the ground. Together with our global diaspora, we foster long-term self-reliance.

Decided by the village council
True development begins by listening. We do not impose plans from offices afar. Instead, we sit with local councils to identify real needs—whether a clean water tap or a rehabilitated classroom.
By leveraging local knowledge and materials, we construct high-impact infrastructure at a fraction of typical NGO costs, managed and maintained entirely by the community.

Grounded in Manyu Division
Our team consists of local engineers, educators, and organizers who understand local land rights, customs, and actual village needs.
Our commitment is lifelong because this is our home. We live alongside the projects we build, ensuring clean water and safe schools serve our families for generations.
